Shot mostly in Hamburg. That gas station at the end is on the corner of the famous Reeperbahn. It is open all night and everyone buys cheap beer there (compared to the clubs). I heard they have the highest revenue of all european gas stations.
But I disgress. The agency that came up with this is Jung von Matt.
I had a teacher in high school that allowed us to cheat. She let us design our own little cheat sheets and we´d spend a lot of time on scribbling the most useful info onto tiny bits of paper.
Only thing was: In the end she didn´t allow us to use them during the test. But: By then we had spent so much time thinking about what info to put where that we actually remembered everything anyway. So she really tricked us into learning... Genius!
Taught me a lot about condensing information down to its essence.
Remember that by this model you´d only get points for clips which later end up in the top videos list.
So to get to 100 points, you´d have to be the second upvoter on 112 of those clips. (By comparison: If you were upvoter #9 on the same 112, you´d only have 11,2 Points.)
So I think 100 seems a bit high for level 1. I´d set it at 20 Points for level one and then go to 50, 100, 200, 400 and so on.
But I am sure the meatbags behind sifty can figure something out.
I just thought about this because of all the "damn, you beat me by 20 minutes" comments and I thought it would be great to have some kind of mechanism to reward the early birds.
Here is how I would do it:
As soon as a video hits the "Top Videos" list, sifty can go back and check who were the voters #2 to #9. Points could be 9/10 for voter #2, 8/10 for voter #3 and so on up until 1/10 for voter #9. (Why not voter #1 and voter #10? I think the first voter should not get 10/10, as he is usually the original poster, who gets rewarded with a star anyway when the video hits the top list, and I think voter #10, who gets it out of queue is already covered by the Assisters badge.)
Points add up in the background over time and induce the early adopter badge at certain levels. If that level is set at reasonable intervals it would not lead to "ridiculous levels" either.

Actually I guess that could work.
I think the badge levels should double at each level.
Badge level 1 - 100 points total.
Badge level 2 - 300 points total.
Badge level 3 - 700 points total.
Badge level 4 - 1500 points total.
etc.
That should really keep them within a suitable range over time.
